Shelby’s journey with Small Dog Rescue BC began in 2013 after meeting founder Karen. Inspired by Karen’s unwavering dedication, Shelby quickly joined the mission and has been a devoted volunteer ever since. Over the years, Shelby and Karen have shared countless hours on the road, participating in remote spay and neuter clinics and volunteer trips across North America. Boots on the ground is where she loves to be.

Whether wrangling feral strays (nothing like an angry feral cat to get the heart pumping), navigating backroads with furry copilots, or orchestrating fundraisers with a healthy dose of humour, Shelby’s hands-on style and genuine heart are a driving force behind the wagging tales and second chances.

When she’s not knee-deep in rescue life, you’ll probably find her plotting the next road trip, barefoot exploring her garden, or enjoying life with her husband and many beloved furry family members.
